Rex has achieved degrees in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration technology and Business Administration from OSU - Oklahoma State University. Rex worked with Johnson Controls in the Tulsa Branch, performing application engineering, NEBB certified air/water balance, service & new construction sales, and ran the service dept. before leaving in 1989. After JCI, he worked as a Product Sales Manager for Technical Systems, a custom air conditioning manufacturer marketing unique air conditioning solutions and managing sales representatives. Rex joined AAP in 1993, as a Sales Engineer, became Sales and Marketing Manager in 1997. Rex became the President of Associated Air Products in January 2003.

Mike is a graduate of KSU - Kansas State University in 1978 in Business and Marketing. Mike joined local Kansas City Rep firm selling HVAC equipment in 1978. After a couple of stops with different representative organizations, Mike became one of three original partners in Associated Air Products in 1985. Mike has represented over 100 different manufacturers in his 20+ years in the Kansas City market. Mike is known throughout the HVAC industry as one of the top custom air handling unit (AHU) designers in the business. His ideas and experience yield solid AHU designs that work!
Paul is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a BSME degree. In addition, he is a graduate of Mitchell Technical School for the studies of Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration, and Sheet Metal Construction. Paul joined Associated Air Products, Inc. (AAP) in 1994 as a Project Manager for turnkey special projects. Paul has been involved with the estimating, procurement, shipping, erection, and start-up supervision of the complete HVAC systems on 26 power plants worldwide. He has been involved with many projects in the Kansas City construction market. Prior to joining AAP, Paul was employed at a local Consulting Engineer firm (Black & Veatch) as a senior HVAC engineer. He has worked in the Sheet Metal, Heating and Air Conditioning trade.
In July of 1998, Paul received a U.S. Patent for the design of a Vertical Storm Louver System. He was involved in the original design and development of the first vertical storm louver for the HVAC industry. In addition, Paul was involved in the development of the testing procedures for the vertical storm louver with AMCA.
Chris started drafting and CAD work of HV/AC systems in 1986 then progressed to system design. After attending Central Missouri State University he used his communications major to become a partner in one of the largest real estate appraisal firms in the mid-west with offices in Kansas City, Springfield, St. Louis and Dallas, Texas. Transitioning his role in the appraisal company allowed him to join Xceligent, a company focused on creating a competitive alternative in the field of commercial real estate information. Chris, as part of a small group of people, concentrated on corporate sales and product development to help the company achieve its goal and sustain its place as one of the three dominant products in the sector. Chris came to AAP in 2007. His wide background in corporate sales and marketing will be used to enhance the marketing abilities of AAP.
Maurice started in HVAC system design and development in 1961 after attending Omaha University. Maurice has been in Kansas City since 1985. During that time he owned Bartlett Design Group with locations in Kansas City and Bay Minette, Alabama for 12 years. His 45 years of experience in HVAC system designs have included multi-family residential, medical, office, retail, restaurant, manufacturing, food processing and many other applications for nearly every type of commercial property. Maurice joined AAP in 2005. Maurice was originally hired to assist with take-offs and engineering design. Recently, his extensive design experience has been applied to the Daikin HV/AC products and aids in zone layouts for this product. As a result Maurice is a regional expert in Daikin HV/AC solutions.
Graduate of ITT Technical Institute, Kansas City with a degree in Commercial Engineering and Drafting Technologies. Dan has attended numerous HVAC and control system design courses and has over 20 years experience with HVAC and process systems. He has spent the majority of the last nine years focusing on HVAC and building control system applications in laboratory environments. More specifically he has experience with central heating and cooling plant layout, ventilation system layout and design; control system layout, programming, startup and systems integration, laboratory special systems design including solvent delivery and recovery systems. Current duties include: project management and primary response contact for DDC controls service contracts, project management, application specific design, programming and overseeing startup of all new Phoenix control systems. Additional duties include onsite annual checkup of both the DDC and laboratory VAV control systems and technical support 24/7.
Loretta came to AAP in June of 1998, with a history of working in the HVAC industry. Her experience covers quoting, technical assistance, project bidding with Keystone Valve, a factory-direct sales office, inside sales and outside sales support with two local rep organizations. While employed at Natkin Mechanical Contractors, she gained additional perspectives on the industry and how all the pieces fit together. As a result, she has established many good working relationships with others in the industry. She is that friendly voice answering the phone when you call. Loretta is currently serving as the Kansas City Chapter of ASHRAE, Historian, since 2000.
Ian is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining AAP, Ian worked for 9-1/2 years in consulting engineering as an HVAC engineer, designing projects from beginning to end, from the initial planning stages, to calculating equipments loads and selecting equipment, to producing construction documentation. Ian has designed air and hydronic systems, including large variable volume central station air handling systems with hydronic heating and cooling, DX packaged systems with electric heat, and industrial exhaust systems, among others. He also has substantial experience with test and balance, and commissioning.
Josh has been with AAP since February 2004, Josh's previous experience was working for two large spiral pipe manufacturer's. He was a draftsman and estimator for both companies. He also has worked for a mechanical contractor hanging duct work and general sheet metal duties. Josh has moved into mechanical and sheet metal product sales drawing on his people and hands on construction skills to meet customer needs.
Nancy joined AAP in February, 2006 in a Receptionist/Clerical position. She comes to us with 20 plus years experience greeting customers and performing various clerical and customer service functions.
With a degree in HVAC/R Engineering Technology from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA and a Masters Degree in Management Science from the University of Dayton in 1976 and 1979. Brian begun working for Copeland Corporation as an Application Engineer and advanced to a District Sales Manager providing technical, marketing and sales support for compressor sales to OEM manufacturers for 8 years. For another seven years following Copeland, he worked as a Regional Sales Manager for the Carlyle Compressor Division of Carrier Corporation with concentrated efforts in the supermarket and ultra low temperature markets. Following Copeland, he worked for seven years as a Regional Sales manager for the CES companies of Mammoth, Governair, Temtrol and Webco in the manufacturing of custom DX and AHU package units. Brian joined AAP in 1998, as a Senior Sales Engineer. Brian continues to serve on the Advisory Council for the four year HVAC/R School of Technology program at Ferris State University since 1986 and is a member of ASHRAE.
Graduated from Purdue University in 1973 with a BSME degree. Joined Allen-Bradley Co. A was assigned to the sales group in Kansas City. Held several sales positions in the KC area then became Branch Mgr. in Wichita. Became District Sales Mgr based in KC. Covering the marketing for the states of KS, MO, and NE. Promoted to the Regional Commercial Sales manager position in KC and STL. Joined AAP in 1998 to sale & support VFD, Gas detection, and airflow measuring station applications, owner training and system startup. Active in local EMRA (past president), Electric League (President in 2004) and ASHRAE. John is well developed in his knowledge of electrical controls, VFD, and Solid State controls applications.
A graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a degree in Finance, Bruce has over 25 years experience selling industrial HVAC and process equipment. He has worked extensively with customers to solve tough air handling problems. Fields of expertise include high pressure and high temperature fans and blowers, industrial dehumidification, process cooling, heating and dust collection.
Paul received BS & MS degrees in Animal Science from Kansas State University in 1976 and 1977. He then worked for New Holland, a farm and industrial excavating equipment manufacturing company from 1977 until 1994. While there he worked in warehouse supervision and held several positions in inside sales support and distribution management. Paul worked for Marley Cooling Tower in inside sales from 1995 until 2001. He joined AAP in September of 2001 and has performed the Inside Sales support function since that time.
Brent is a graduate of Vatterott College. Brent is a skilled designer detailer with 6 years experience in HVAC and plumbing systems design. He has problem solving abilities and is excellent with CAD, computers, and IT duties. Brent supports our start up and project management responsibilities with Phoenix Controls and ABB drives systems.
Leah has been a member of the AAP team since March 1996. While she was originally hired in an administrative/clerical capacity, she quickly increased her responsibilities and position to handle various accounting functions. Leah now manages all aspects of the accounting division as well as human resources. She has a B.A degree in Criminology. While often referred to as "our girl Friday," she has proven able to handle the many functions of AAP's daily operations.
A graduate of Missouri Western College (BA). St. Joseph, Missouri, and a graduate of Keller Graduate School of Management (MBA), Kansas City, Missouri, Steve has been in HVAC equipment sales and the control systems industry since the late 1970's. In mid-1992 he became the Branch Manager for an equipment sales rep office started in Southwest Missouri. During that time, he successfully represented McQuay International (AHU's, chillers, etc.), Reliance Electric (variable speed drives), Andover DDC systems, and other well-known HVAC equipment manufacturers. He achieved well over a seventy percent (70%) share of new business in the controls market in his geographic area. Prior to this, Steve was Systems Sales Engineer for Landis & Gyr Powers. Steve's extensive knowledge of the controls industry makes him a great resource on any control projects. Steve is committed to truly OPEN DDC systems, and returning CHOICE to our customers, using robust open LonWorks platforms, Tridium, and TAC to achieve this goal.
Kenny has been with AAP since March 2005. He brings 30 years of electrical and HVAC experience to the company. Kenny worked as a maintenance supervisor over the Energy Management and HVAC Department in a local school district for a number of years.
A graduate of Ozarks Technical Community College, Springfield, Missouri, Kenny is our HVAC Technician and is responsible for HVAC systems' startup, commissioning, and trouble-shooting.
Shannon joins us from the 3M manufacturing plant in Springfield, Missouri. While there he held many positions including shift lead of Industrial and Diversified Adhesives. He was also a key member of the SIX SIGMA team which was responsible for reducing costs and increasing productivity in production. He joined AAP in July of 2004 and has been performing ACD sales/customer service since that time.
A graduate of Mid - Florida Tech in Orlando Fl, Bruce has 20 years experience in BAS, Controls and electrical systems installations and troubleshooting. Bruce has attended Niagara Technical Certification Program for Tridium Controls integration. Bruce is also certified to start up both analog and DDC Phoenix Controls systems.
Mike attended the School of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Missouri. Mike is AAP Springfield Chief Engineer for temperature controls. He has worked with Steve Griffith for the past 16 years. During that time, he has engineered, programmed, and supervised the installation of DDC Control Systems, including dynamic graphical front-ends and multi-vendor protocol level interfaces. Specializing in Andover, TAC Americas, and ThermoZone, and all LONWorks based DDC systems.
Joe attended the University of Phoenix and has over 10 years combined experience in the Building Automation and Information Technology fields. In that time, Joe has engineered, programmed and implemented LON based control systems and worked directly with client Information Systems Engineers to integrate web based DDC systems with existing LAN infrastructures.
A graduate of Ozarks Technical Community College, Springfield, Missouri, Bill is our Chief Controls Engineer and Sr. Project manager and is responsible for HVAC systems' engineering and project management.
