Rod grew up across the street from Ahern field house in Manhattan and snuck into their engineering school before the days of tighter security. While only passing the heat transfer courses, he was directed towards air conditioning SALES (his last name having nothing to do with destiny). Working for a small mechanical contractor, it become obvious he needed to broaden his understanding,so he bought an MBA from a dime-store school down the street. Carrier (GH&C) was his next stop and they taught him the difference between a WSHP & a chiller (barely). Convinced labor hours would just confuse the estimate to replace A/C, Rod spent years on the road working for equipment manufacturers (Aaon, Munters & Stulz). Having finally been properly tutored (giving up his slide-rule for ESPN), he’s being groomed in the fine art of ”telling the story” AND “we stand behind it” concerning the benefits of both: proper space moisture control & energy-efficient IT cooling. Rod & his much-better-half Debbie, are long-time residents of Lenexa. They have raised two boys and are members of Redeemer Fellowship.
